Josephine is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Communication Studies at AUT University. Her teaching and research interests are: interpersonal, business and cross-cultural communication, academic and technical writing.

She has co-authored two books with Mary Thoreau.

1. Communication in Practice: Skills for the Workplace (2000) Prentice Hall
2. Communication Plus: A Spiral for Success (2002) Prentice Hall

For three years she has been on the NZCA Executive Committee, editing the proceedings for the annual conference.
